About CBO

The Community Boosting Organization (CBO) is a board-led Civil Society Organization founded and led by physicians and health professionals who have demonstrated unwavering commitment to the Ethiopian Medical Students’ Association-Bahir Dar in various positions. CBO is officially registered with the civil society organizations’ Authority under Proclamation number 1113/2011 of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. During their time in medical school and while involved in public health and charitable activities, the founders of CBO identified significant gaps in health, education, charity, human and democratic rights, and job opportunities. However, they refused to let these challenges overshadow their unwavering dedication to volunteer work. Instead, they used these challenges as motivation to create a Community Boosting Organization (CBO) that would positively and meaningfully impact the community. Through their ups and downs in volunteer work, the founders developed a vision of a satisfactory, eligible, and affordable Ethiopian, African, and world health system. Their unwavering commitment to this vision has led to the creation of CBO, an organization dedicated to enhancing communities in a positive and meaningful way.
