About CBO

Community Boosting Organization (CBO) is a board-led Civil Society Organization registered in Ethiopia under Proclamation No. 1113/2011 of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Established in September 2020 by a group of dedicated Ethiopian medical doctors, CBO was born from their deep involvement in initiatives such as the Ethiopian Medical Students’ Association (EMSA-Ethiopia), the Federation of African Medical Students’ Associations (FAMSA), and the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), as well as other non-profit efforts during their medical studies.

Through years of active community service, the founders identified critical gaps in healthcare, education, and problem-solving capacities within underserved populations. Motivated by these challenges, they founded CBO to create lasting, positive change in the communities they serve.

Today, CBO is led by a diverse team of medical professionals, health experts, multidisciplinary specialists, community leaders, and dedicated youth. Our headquarters in Mizan Aman, located in Bench Sheko Zone of the Southwest Ethiopia Region, strategically positions us to address the needs of some of the country’s most marginalized and underserved communities.

CBO adopts a holistic approach to community development by integrating healthcare, education, and empowerment services, aiming to create sustainable, measurable impact. Over the past four years, we have demonstrated unwavering commitment through a variety of impactful projects that address the health and educational challenges facing the communities we serve.
